Brisingr holds a lot of history to me and Aaryama Somayaji. It's the first book that we read together and also Aaryama Somayaji’s favourite. It was also the first book which received the Sanskriti and Aaryama's renowned Book-Opening ceremony.
Brisingr is the third part of the renowned series of the Inheritance cycle, which consist of Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr and an up coming last novel Inheritance.
The last war between the Empire and Varden, has made Eragon and Saphira realize they have to desperately revisit their masters in Ellesmera. They know the truth about Eragon’s parentage and their encounter with Galbatorix’s riders, Murtagh and Thorn has made them realize they have no hope of defeating the Empire. Because of their precedent oaths and promises they must help Roran recover Katrina from the Ra’zac’s lair, proceed in helping the Varden and eventually find a way to destroy Murtagh and Galbatorix.
Aaryama’s Opinion:
“After the first two amazing books about good things like Friendship, Brotherhood, Relationships, Unity and more ...And bad things like Wars, Battling against extinction and lack of humanity towards other races...And Interesting things like Mental battles with a dragon, Plotting against a crazy king and learning deeply rooted family secrets who could've thought that a person (even someone as brilliant as Paolini) could come up with a better-than-the-prequels and outstanding book.
Brisingr starts with a promise that Eragon had made to himself and how he wishes to keep it by killing the Razak. It then continues on an epic journey back and fourth the land of Alagaesia which is ruled by the Mad King Galbatorix who holds the last dragon egg.
The Last three Dragon riders and their Dragons- Eragon and Saphira; Murtagh and Thorn and Oromis and Glaedr- all head out and the battle that takes place is one that will remain forever in the hearts of Paolini-Fans like me. The Story also has romantic parts which seemed missing in the first two books and were long-awaited. This book was, Is and will always be one that I will never forget”

Sanskriti’s Opinion:
OATHS SWORN . . . loyalties tested . . . forces collide.
These words memorized were by Aaryama Somayaji, when she read this book for the first time. God knows how many times she has read this book by now, last I asked her she was reading it for the 11th time. As you can read, it is her favourite book.
Glaedr made by Aaryama Somayaji! |
Comparing it to the other two prequels, Brisingr seems useless moreover it would have made no difference with or without it. Nonetheless, I have enjoyed debating, arguing and talking about about the upcoming book with Aaryama Somayaji, and I have had immense pleasure in reading this books with you!
